Teeth
whitening is ideal for patients who have healthy teeth
and
who would like to have a whiter, brighter smile.
Safe
Our dentists will examine your teeth to see if
in-office whitening is right for you. Research
and clinical studies have consistently shown that
whitening teeth with hydrogen peroxide gel under the
supervision of a dentist is safe for teeth and gums.
Effective
Traditionally teeth have been whitened by giving
patients trays to wear for 2 hours per day for 3 - 4
weeks. Patients place hydrogen peroxide gel into
these trays and after 3 -4 weeks the teeth will have
been whitened.
At VistaSol Dental, we can achieve equal or better
results with one in-office visit.
Causes of Tooth
Discoloration
There
are many causes for tooth discoloration. The
most common include aging, and overall accumulation of
staining substances such as coffee, teas, colas, wine,
and tobacco. |

Procedure
First,
the surface debris is removed from your teeth.
We then apply a protective coating to your gums and
the root surfaces of your teeth. Cotton
rolls are placed to protect your lips and your teeth
are prepared for the whitening gel. The
whitening gel is then placed and light activated.
The gel
is refreshed several times during the procedure and
after approximately one hour your teeth will be their
very whitest. We then apply a sodium fluoride
gel to make your newly whitened teeth more resistant
to re-staining.
Results
It takes years for your teeth to lose their natural
luster. Now you can safely bring the
brilliance back to your teeth. Results are
seen with just one in-office visit and teeth are
often 9 shades lighter after the whitening
procedure.
